This is a favorite piece of mine. It's done by the artist Johannes Vermeer. He loved to paint women doing ordinary, everyday things. He was one of the first to use natural light, painted into his artwork. It's all very ordinary, and for some reason, I love his work. Maybe I'm Dutch at heart?
